The Alaska Trucking Association is a 501(c)(6) not for profit trade association recruiting for a half time Accountant to perform all accounting related functions. The successful candidate will possess a knowledge of accrual based accounting functions, monthly journal entries and excellent QuickBooks skills. This position will review the daily sales data input verifying bank and credit card deposits, Accounts Receivable payments, DMV transactions and ACH transfers on a regular basis. This position will enter, code and prepare checks for AP; process AR invoices and payments; enter and prepare payroll checks. Monthly, there will be bank and credit card statement reconciliations, closing entries, expense distribution and financial report preparation. Year end will entail closing the CY fiscal year for preparation of financial statements and tax returns. Organizing cost of services analysis and coding structures organized to provide easily understandable reporting. A familiarity with DMV transaction processing will be helpful. Job Information:

Primary Function: Service light truck, medium truck, and industrial earthmover tires.

Be responsible for all aspects of tire and related service and repair on vehicles and equipment to include Loaders, Articulated End Dump etc.

 

Description:

Diagnosis and repairs of the fleet for tires, wheels, and rims.

Completion of all necessary Tire Department tags and work orders.

Moving of equipment in/out of the Tire Shop and around the yard.

Moving and sorting of tires for inventory and inspection purposes.

Loading and unloading of tires for shipping and receiving.

Maintains a clean and safe work area.

 

Skills:

Demonstrated/proven superior customer service skills; ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders; computer keyboarding; ability to lift/move tractor/trailer tires as needed (100+ lbs).

·         Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner.

Education Required: High School Diploma or GED or graduation from an accredited technical school with a certificate in a tire related field (TIA certified). Obtainment of a certificate from an accredited school may substitute the required six (6) months of experience.

 

Tools: Candidate must have their own hand tools including tire gauges, valve stem tools., ½ inch and ¾ inch drive sockets and air wrenches, tire buffers, etc.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of petroleum products throughout the area while providing excellent customer service. 

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Must possess a valid Class B CDL with HAZMAT endorsements.  Maintain a clean driving record and pass all random drug and alcohol tests.

 

A.        JOB DUTIES

 

Delivers petroleum products to homes and commercial accounts in the Cordova area. 

Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner.

Keep accurate truck logs.

Performs daily inspections, and report all necessary mechanical repairs to Mechanic. 

Helps maintain all company equipment in clean and working order.

Ensures proper procedure is followed for task being performed.

Ensures meter sheets, dailies, and meters balance of fuel delivered are completed daily and are properly billed and legible.

Provides excellent service to all customers.

Informs management of safety, environmental, and mechanical concerns in a timely manner.

Delivers lubes using company vehicle.

Communicates regularly with dispatch/management during working hours.

This position requires overtime and may be called upon to provide call out duties.

 

Dress Code:  Drivers should dress for the current outdoor conditions and wear over the ankle boots.  Blue or Black jeans are acceptable and shorts and sweat pants are not allowed. It is important to look neat and professional.

Operate a forklift. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and participate in highly active physical duties. Must be able to operate company vehicles. Must be able to use computer, telephone and other general office equipment.

 

 

Requires walking on varying surfaces, including hazardous and slippery conditions throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move product. Proper lifting techniques required.

 

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

The performance of this position requires exposure to industrial areas and marine location which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as appropriate foot wear, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.  Industrial areas include hazardous chemicals, fumes, and petroleum by-products.

REQUIREMENTS:  Must carry a current commercial driver’s license (CDL) with required endorsements and have a good driving record.  Must carry Transportation Worker Identification Card and pass Transportation Security Administration Background Check. 

 

Must be willing to work some overtime during busy seasons and be available for call-outs. 

 

Must be professional and courteous with customers at all times. 

 

Must be able to work well with others and perform a variety of duties.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  Must have a current commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a hazmat endorsement and a current Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, or service providers. Ability to record and calculate mathematic equations on delivery tickets.  Ability to communicate effectively with all employees, customers and vendors to facilitate problem resolutions.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and 75 pounds routinely, and repeatedly carry fuel hoses across rough uneven terrain.  Push/pull a maximum of 350lbs (with assistance of pallet jack).  Operate hand truck with heavy inventory loaded, most typically package lube products such as a pallet of 4-8, 5 gallon containers or one 55 gallon drum of lube oil product. Operate a forklift. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and participate in highly active physical duties. Must be able to operate company vehicles. Must be able to use computer, telephone and other general office equipment.

 

Requires walking on varying surfaces, including hazardous and slippery conditions throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to move product. Proper lifting techniques required.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The performance of this position requires exposure to industrial areas and marine location which requires the use of personal protective equipment such as appropriate foot wear, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.  Industrial areas include hazardous chemicals, fumes, and petroleum by-products.
