Compliance with the DOT Regulations

This seminar will explain the audit process, safety ratings and tracking your company’s safety history on the FMCSA web site.

Topics covered will include; driver training requirements, load securement, insurance requirements, accident recordkeeping, driver qualification files, drug and alcohol testing, disqualifying offenses, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance and inspections.

 

Hazardous Materials Transportation

This class will meet the recurrent (3-year) training requirements for hazmat employees, covering safety, general awareness, and security awareness.

Topics covered will include:  written security plans, the HM table and appendices, shipping papers, marking, labels, placarding and emergency response.

A test will be administered in compliance with the training rule.

 

LCV “Train the Trainer”

Drivers of Long Combination Vehicles (doubles and triples over 80,000 lb.) must have a classroom training session and a behind-the-wheel skills training session.  This workshop will prepare students to train their drivers.  It will also meet the requirement of the classroom session for drivers.  (Note: Skills trainers must have had at least 2 years’ experience operating the type of LCV on which they plan to train).

Topics covered will include a discussion of the benefits of LCVs, basic operations, defensive driving techniques, trip planning.
