An out of state driver coming into Alaska will need:
 
·         Valid truck/tractor and trailer registrations
 
·         USDOT number
 
·         MC number if applicable (carrying property for hire) 
 
·         Copy of IRS Form 2290, if he/she wishes to dual register the vehicle; Average Truck/Tractor/BusDual Registration $331 for one year or $662 for two years, depending on actual unladen weight. Trailer is $20.00 and is permanent for as long as you ownthe trailer. The other option is to purchase a Temporary  Registration, which currently costs $350 and $10.00 for each trailer. (Alaska temporary or regular registrations are available at Tok)
 
·         A driver can expect at least a CVSA Level 3 inspection for which  he/she will need;
o   Drivers License
 
o   Medical Card
 
o   Proof of Insurance
 
o   Log Book
 
o   Bill of lading
 
o   Annual Inspection documentation (sticker or form)
 
·         Fuel Tax is paid at the pump in Alaska
 
·         Alaska does not participate in IFTA or IRP
